This charity exists to provide support for people experiencing mental health issues of a medium term or enduring nature, who are often isolated. Based in Morpeth, its remit is to cover south-east Northumberland. It offers a range of services including counselling, social interaction, discussion groups, activities and groups such as creative writing, crafts, mindfulness, and photography. It also offers advice and information, and acts as a link between care services, service users, and/or their carers. Benefits are many – including increased confidence and self-esteem; improved wellbeing of carers; increased confidence and skills for volunteers; and a sense of belonging.
In the June 2019 meeting, the Foundation has offered £6,000 to the charity. This will be a contribution to core costs, particularly rent.
